Director / President
Mr. Palileo joined the Rural Bank of Atimonan in 2001, leading its microfinance operations to exponential growth over the next eight years. In 2009, he took the helm as President and charted a new course for the bank.
He brought their operations to the most isolated and disadvantaged areas in Quezon Province with a goal to serve the unbanked Filipino - those who have no access to credit and formal financing and who are often taken advantage of.
Furthering this mission, Mr. Palileo launched their expansion outside Quezon in 2018 by merging with the Rural Bank of Pangil in Laguna. With his sights set on nationwide presence, Mr. Palileo rebranded the Rural Bank of Atimonan and, by 2020, it became officially known as Bayanihan Bank. A second merger, with the Rural Bank of Pozzorubio in Pangasinan, marked the start of their expansion in north Luzon. As the bank continued to establish its presence across Luzon, the bank's direction remained clear – to deepen their reach within the communities and to provide microfinance based on needs and not collateral.
Mr. Palileo has been an active member of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines since 2021. Notably, he was instrumental in founding the Angel Network Committee within the association to help rehabilitate rural banks in distress. Through this initiative, rural banks across the country, particularly those facing Prompt Corrective Action from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines), could seek professional aid from consultants and fellow seasoned rural bankers.
In 2025, Mr. Palileo was elected as President of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines and, in 2026, as Chairman of the Rural Bankers Research and Development Foundation, Inc.
With 29 Bayanihan Bank offices across Quezon, Laguna, Pangasinan, Camarines Norte, and Metro Manila, his work is far from done. Mr. Palileo aims to bring the bank across Luzon by 2030 and to the Visayas and Mindanao after that. On what grounds him and his team, he says,
"I believe - and I see that our people believe - that we're making a difference in our client's lives. They're the ones who give us hope – seeing them put their trust in us and how far they've come. And this is why we can't stop. We need to go to those who need us most and to make this system more just."
